At the end of our seven-day journey, we come to the moment of making a commitment to God and to ourselves. Padre Pio always emphasized the importance of perseverance in the spiritual life. This last day does not mark an end, but a beginning: the start of a more conscious and constant life of prayer.
May the graces received during these seven days not be lost in the whirlwind of everyday life, but rather be the basis for lasting spiritual renewal. Keep alive the flame of prayer, intimacy with God and constant dialogue with your Guardian Angel.
Let us ask for the virtue of perseverance, so that even in moments of discouragement or spiritual aridity, we may continue on the path of prayer and trust in God.
“Lord my God, at the end of this seven-day journey of prayer guided by the teachings of Saint Padre Pio, I come before You to seal a commitment to perseverance in faith. I recognize that this period of prayer is not an end, but a beginning: the start of a deeper and more conscious spiritual life. As Padre Pio himself taught, ‘in the spiritual life, those who do not advance, regress.’ Therefore, I now commit myself not to let the graces received in these days be lost in the whirlwind of everyday life.
My Lord and my God, help me to keep alive the flame of prayer that has been rekindled during this week. May the intimacy with You that I have experienced in moments of silence and contemplation not be extinguished, but rather grow and become stronger as the days go by. Grant me the grace of constancy, so that just as Saint Padre Pio spent long hours in prayer, I too may set aside a sacred time each day to be in Your presence.
Holy Spirit, I ask you for the virtue of perseverance. When discouragement comes, when spiritual aridity knocks on my door, when laziness or distractions try to keep me from my life of prayer, remember the words of Padre Pio: ‘Pray, have faith and do not worry’. Help me not to neglect my relationship with God, even when I do not feel comforted or when life becomes especially challenging.
Jesus, I commit myself to continue to dialogue with my Guardian Angel, recognizing his constant presence at my side. I promise to return often to these prayers that I have learned, especially in moments when I need healing, prosperity, protection for my family or inner peace. May they not be just words uttered once, but a spiritual path that I will continue to follow.
Mary, Mother of Perseverance, who remained steadfastly at the foot of the Cross when everyone else fled, teach me to be constant in faith even in times of trial. May I know, like you, to keep and meditate on all things in my heart. Intercede for me, so that my commitment today does not fade away tomorrow, but is strengthened with each new day.
Heavenly Father, on this seventh day, just as You rested after creation, I also want to rest in You, not with laziness, but with the serene confidence of someone who knows they can count on their God at all times. I commit myself to making my life a continuous prayer, as Saint Paul taught, ‘praying without ceasing’. May my daily actions, my work, my relationships, my joys and even my crosses be offered to You as a living prayer.
Saint Padre Pio, who interceded for me during these seven days, continue to accompany me on the path to holiness. Teach me to repeat with You: ‘I go forward, as God wills, for as long as God wills, for as long as God wills.’ May I embrace each day as an opportunity to grow in faith, hope and charity.
Lord, seal this commitment in my heart. May this week of prayer not be just an isolated experience, but the beginning of a new life, marked by intimacy with you, docility to the Spirit and trust in your providence. I thank you for bringing me this far and I trust that you will give me the strength to persevere until the end. With Saint Padre Pio, I want to proclaim: prayer is the best weapon we have, the key that opens the heart of God. Help me never to abandon this powerful weapon. Amen!
